Working out should be fun! If its not your doing it wrong or maybe you need to make a few minor adjustments. I hear a lot of people say they hate exercise, which baffles me because I don’t even think about it anymore. II’m not going to promise you’ll look forward to it everyday, but it shouldn’t be the absolute worst. If you’re unhappy with your workouts here are some tips to improve itWork out with a friend

1) Workout With a Friend

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; getting a friend to join you on your workout sesh can make you way more motivated. You’ll have someone you can share the pain with, potentially check out hot guys/girls, and even have a few side conversations before, after, and during the workout. Plus you’ll be more likely to commit to actually exercising, because you’ll be excited to hang out with your workout buddy.

2) Get an awesome playlist

Everyone has their own musical taste, but getting an energy pumping playlist can really get you going. Studies have shown that people who listen to faster pace music work harder voluntarily. So fill your music player full of kick ass tunes to inspire you in the gym.

3) Incorporate fitness into your lifestyle

Not everyone wants to or even has the time to devote a chunk of their day to working out. It’s hard physically and mentally to cram in all your fitness for one day into one session. If you have a physically demanding job, it can be a blessing in disguise because you’re moving around. Obviously you shouldn’t change your career if that’s not the case but there are ways to add some exercise in your day. Take the stairs, do a few Rubberbanditz resistance band exercises during your break, or do jumping jacks during commercials.

4) Change your routine up

Its natural to get bored with things so make changes. Check out a yoga class if you normally run or vise versa. If you don’t want to do an entirely new workout change the intensity. Pushing yourself harder or going easier on yourself might be all you need.

5) Move with a purpose

If you’re into biking, running, or walking you can exchange a trip to the gym for running an errand on foot. Walking or biking to work or to another location you need to get to, will make it feel less like exercise and will give you a goal when you’re moving. Bonus points: You’re saving gas!

6) Track your fitness

There are tons of great fitness apps that you can use to track your improvements. There is something really satisfactory about logging in all your efforts. So take advantage of that and move forward.

7) Watch Netflix

There is a reason why almost all gyms have TVs. Watching something can be a great way to distract yourself from the gym. I actually look forward to the gym because I know I can get on the stationary bike and have a great excuse to binge on Orange is the New Black.

8) Take A Rest Day

If you’re still feeling anti exercise take a rest day. Your body might just be feeling over tired and over worked. Its totally ok to take a day off every once in awhile!
