Signs public gyms are not for you…

-Are you self-conscious about your current fitness level?

If you are just starting or re-starting a fitness regimen, you may not be in the best physical shape. If you are embarrassed or self-conscious to be huffing and puffing harder than those around you, it will take your focus away from pushing yourself to your workout limit.

-Do you wear make-up to the gym?

I cannot lie; I have been guilty of this. I tried to  excuse it by going for the “natural look”, but I definitely dabbed on some making before hitting the campus gym in case I ran into someone I knew. Seems reasonable, right? Wrong. If you are getting in a good workout you should be breaking a sweat and your make-up will vanish.  If you wear make-up to the gym, you are likely to hold yourself back in order to avoid sweating it away. This is not good for accomplishing your fitness goals.

-Has the gym become a social call?
